Bare tree amid slate spoil in a quarry, Wales
A gnarled, leafless tree with widely spreading branches stands amid grey slate fragments covering the floor of the former quarry. A single stone post rises from the rubble to the right of the tree. Autumn coloured shrubs and grasses grow at the edges of the spoil heaps. Mist hangs over the distant ridges in the background.
