Image rights and licences

All photographs, texts and design elements on this website are protected by copyright. The author is Sven Fennema, Krefeld, Germany. Any use beyond the narrow limits of copyright law requires prior written permission.

What needs no request

Viewing the images in a browser and sharing links to the work pages through social networks, messengers or email. The preview images that appear automatically are intended for exactly that.

What needs permission

Downloading, copying, reproducing and passing on the image files. Embedding them in websites, blogs, presentations, videos or printed matter. Any editing, cropping or use as a template. Any use for advertising. Removing or altering the authorship information stored in the files.

Training of AI systems

Using these images and texts to train generative models, or for text and data mining, is expressly prohibited. This reservation under section 44b(3) of the German Copyright Act is also stated in the robots.txt and the llms.txt of this website. Reading and quoting the content with a credit remains permitted.

Requesting usage rights

Licences for magazines, books, exhibitions, websites and other media are available. Terms depend on purpose, medium, print run, term and territory. Requests start at the work itself: in the gallery through the basket icon, on the work page through the section “Inquire about this work”, choosing “Licence inquiry”. For press requests and review copies a message through the contact form is enough.

Credit

Where use has been granted, the credit reads “© Sven Fennema”. It belongs next to the image or in a clearly visible place in the imprint of the publication. The authorship information in the files (IPTC and XMP) must be preserved.

Buying prints

Buying a print or an edition transfers ownership of the object, not the usage rights to the image. Further use in media still requires permission.
