BOUNDLESS
Rooms larger than time itself
There are rooms that make you hold your breath. Halls that seem to have no end, corridors that lose themselves in the distance, chambers whose splendour still carries even in ruin. You step inside and become small, and becoming small here is no humiliation but a relief. BOUNDLESS goes into that expanse.
These rooms were built for crowds, for feasts, assemblies, worship, work. Their size was a promise to the future: there will always be life here. Today you stand in them alone, and the size has not withdrawn. It waits. Paint flakes from the walls, light travels slowly across weathered plasterwork, shadows stretch down enfilades where no one has walked for a long time.
And still these places do not seem small or broken, but exalted. Time has marked them and has not beaten them. Decay has taken away the purpose they were built for, and what is left is pure form: proportion, rhythm, light. Seen that way they are more complete than they were on the day the last craftsman went home.
Expanse is not a measurement but a feeling. You know it from the sea, from the night, from large thoughts. In these rooms it arrives under a roof, and that is the astonishing thing about them.
They are boundless in their beauty, in their history and in what they set off: that past and present fall together for a moment and your own span of years stops mattering. BOUNDLESS is a quiet and reverent look into that endlessness.
