From above the world looks different. Paths become lines, roofs become planes, a house becomes a mark in the landscape. What was large and heavy on the ground turns light, and what was confusing settles into a picture. AIRSCAPES leaves the ground and looks down from a height at places long forgotten below.

The first impression is silence. No crunch underfoot, no echo in an empty hall, only the wind and the quiet hum of hanging above the place. At that distance the buildings tell a new story. You see how small a building is in its surroundings, how the green pulls at its edges, how patterns appear that you would never make out from close to: the symmetry of a ground plan, the sweep of a drive, the net of paths that nobody walks.

Decay loses its weight. From above a fallen roof is not a misfortune but an opening, one that lets light into rooms which have been dark for decades. Cracks become drawings, rust becomes colour, wild growth becomes a soft edge. What was sorrow below turns into structure, rhythm, calm.

At the same time height shows what the view from the ground keeps quiet about: the connection. Every one of these buildings was made for its own place, for this rise in the ground, this river, this wood. From above you see the decision that came before everything else, and you understand why it had to be here.

AIRSCAPES looks with the eyes of the wind: suspended, unhurried, at ease. A view in which what has passed does not seem lost, but held safe inside something larger that remains.
