Rows of old stone granaries on stone stilts before a castle wall in Portugal

Dozens of narrow granite granaries stand close together on stone stilts across a green meadow, their gabled roofs topped with small crosses. In the background rises a crenellated castle wall with a round tower, dark mountain ranges lying beyond under a dramatically clouded sky. Moss and lichen cover the weathered stone of the granaries. The orderly rows of structures feel almost like a small village of their own.
