Numerous black-and-white striped horseshoe arches overlap into a dense, repeating pattern that draws the eye upward toward a central ornamental panel. On the right, a dark, sphere-shaped pulpit or lamp form with a dotted surface projects into the frame. Remnants of floral painting on a pale ground are visible between the arches. The strict geometric repetition creates an almost dizzying, labyrinthine effect.
