Crossing arcaded corridors in the courtyard of an abandoned psychiatric hospital in Piedmont, Italy

Two intersecting vaulted corridors meet at a broad pier, with tall mullioned windows letting green light filter through overgrown foliage. Another window with a wrought-iron frame opens on the right onto a parallel wing of the building. The floor is covered with dry leaves and fine debris, and the ochre walls show clear signs of age and water damage. The clear, repeating arched architecture feels strict and calm at once.
