WHISPERING HALLS

Two-story entrance hall with columns and a stained-glass door in a villa in the Palatinate, Germany

A tall entrance hall is structured by two rows of columns with Corinthian capitals, with a wooden gallery and turned balustrade running above. At the far end, an orange glass door glows in the backlight, and a heraldic shield is set into the wall on the left. The floor is laid with a large-scale diamond pattern in light and dark tiles. Haze and diffuse light give the scene an almost stage-like atmosphere.
