Collapsed church roof after an earthquake in Italy
At the far end of the nave, splintered roof laths hang down like a curtain of wood, with open sky visible behind them. Deep cracks run through the whitewashed walls, and plaster has fallen away in large sections. Wooden pews still stand in rows, covered in rubble and dust. Green trees can be seen through the open rear wall.
