Abandoned church with radiating apse decoration in Italy
A vaulted church interior in warm ochre and red tones, its apse spanned by a radiating, sunburst-like painted decoration. A plain altar table with a cross stands beneath it, surrounded by fragments of the collapsed ceiling cladding. Green plants already grow at the base of the side arch piers, while rubble and brick fragments cover the floor. Despite the decay, the space feels suffused with warm light.
