The plaster on the walls has faded from warm red to a dusty ochre, stucco arches above the door and window losing their sharp contours. A bench of dark metal stands abandoned against the wall, and opposite it the passage opens onto a balustrade overlooking the lake. Clear light lies across the tiled floor.
