Marble tub before a painted colonnade in a decorated bathroom in Italy
Geometric patterns in red, blue and gold cover the walls in dense, repeating fields. At the center, a painted colonnade opens with arched passages and a bronze vase on a pedestal. A marble tub with a rounded rim and old fittings stands before it on reddish tile flooring. The ornament recalls Moorish models, though its execution remains its own.
