Landing with an old piano in a forgotten villa in Piedmont, Italy
Colored glass in narrow windows floods the corner with warm light falling across an upright piano, its red keys partly damaged. Framed prints hang on papered walls, a wrought iron balustrade lines the landing. The ceiling has given way in one spot, fibers and plaster hanging down. Despite the decay, the corner with the instrument feels almost lived-in.
