Symmetrical niche with marble urns in the forgotten Villa del Maggiordomo near Turin, Italy
Two shell-shaped niches, each holding a carved urn on a pedestal, flank a passage into a suite of rooms. Green foliage is visible through the doorway, drawing the eye outward. The plaster on the walls and vault is heavily weathered, visible in several layers. The floor shifts from a pink antechamber to gray tiles in the background.
