Two doors with colored glass panes send shafts of light across the room, over bare wooden floorboards and a wicker chair in the corner. The walls carry fine stucco ornament, the ceiling framed in dark timber beams. Curtains hang heavy and still at the windows while leaves and dust cover the floor.
