A FORZA DIMENTICATA

Switch panel in front of a row of black turbines in an abandoned hydroelectric plant in Italy

In the foreground, a long switch panel with round measuring instruments lines up, behind it the same hall with the black turbines beneath the ornate roof truss. Warm light from the round-arched side windows bathes the weathered walls in yellow and ochre tones. The perspective arrangement of switch panel and turbines creates a clear sense of depth. Remnants of colour on the ceiling suggest a once decorative painting.
