Underground brick vault in the basement of an old cement works in Italy

Numerous round brick arches line up into the depth of an underground cellar, drawing the eye further and further back. Small, irregularly placed holes in the ceiling let light in from above at scattered points. The floor consists of bare, dark earth with no further covering. The simple repetition of the arches creates a calm, almost meditative composition.
