FORGOTTEN LEADERS

Staircase with a green painted wooden balustrade in an abandoned chocolate factory owner's villa in Germany

A wooden staircase with a green painted, turned balustrade leads up to an open gallery with further doors. In the foreground, charred, disintegrated material covers the floor, remnants of a fire or a collapsed ceiling. A window in the background lets light fall onto the gallery. The once well kept staircase seems almost fragile amid the destruction.
