Symmetrical double staircase framed by an archway in a villa in Italy
A tall archway with a richly ornamented capital frames the view of a symmetrical double staircase in pale stone. The cream coloured walls are evenly weathered, the floor covered in fine debris. A wrought iron railing runs up both sides toward an open gallery. The clear axis lends the abandoned space a quiet severity.
