View upward in a staircase with grid windows in a brutalist hospital in Italy
The view rises steeply through several landings, framed by two grid patterned windows stacked above each other. The walls are flaking away in broad patches, dark moisture stains running across the exposed base plaster. A narrow staircase leads upward at the right edge of the frame. The tight shaft feels cool and austere.
