ENTWINED IN TIME

Ruined chapel entwined with fig tree roots in a tropical garden in Portugal

The facade of a ruined chapel with tall pointed arch windows is draped in the thick, hanging aerial roots of a fig tree. Moss and lichen cover the plaster, while ferns, palm fronds and a gnarled trunk partly block the view in the foreground. A narrow path runs alongside the ruin into dense tropical greenery. The light is soft and diffuse, typical of a densely planted garden.
