Oval dome with painted figures in niches inside an abandoned villa in Italy
An oval dome rises in concentric rings toward a round oculus that lets bright light pour in. Painted figures in long robes stand in shallow niches, framed by narrow pilasters. Two windows break the lower ring and let in additional light. The warm ochre tones of the painting have faded in places, revealing older plaster beneath.
