FIREFLY

Ornate rooftop pediment of an abandoned villa with a view towards the Alps, Italy

A richly ornamented rooftop pediment with figures, a coat of arms and curved volutes crowns the tiled roof of the villa, flanked on either side by two chimney pots bearing crests. A flock of birds flies close above the roof surface, with flat farmland stretching behind it to distant mountain ranges on the horizon. The sky is bathed in the violet and orange of dusk. The decorative stonework stands out clearly against the vast landscape.
