Arcaded passage of an old winery in the Douro Valley, Portugal
A row of stone round arches forms a long passage framed by wild ivy. At the far end, the view opens onto a brighter, open space, while leaves and small plants cover the ground in the foreground. Warm light picks out the rough texture of the sandstone and the dense foliage reaching into the frame. The arcade feels abandoned and overtaken by green growth at once.
