Sky fresco with birds above an abandoned vestibule in a villa in Piedmont, Italy
An arch-filled vestibule is crowned by a ceiling with a sky fresco and flying birds, framed by cream-colored stucco with leaf motifs. Larger-than-life painted figures in grey and sepia tones stand in their own frames on both side walls. In the middle of the room, abandoned chairs and pieces of furniture are stacked in front of a tall, mullioned window. The floor lies bare in deep reddish brown and shows traces of moisture.
