Octagonal vestibule with a gilded ceiling medallion in a palazzo in Piedmont, Italy
An octagonal antechamber carries a domed ceiling with a round ornamental panel and fine scrollwork in gold and brown tones. Two symmetrically placed wooden doors with paneled fillings flank a central double glass door, through which bright daylight enters. The plaster at the edges of the ceiling is cracked and partly flaking. The clear geometric order of the room is emphasized by the incoming light.
