A sequence of round arches and massive piers runs through an underground cistern, thickly covered in green moss and algae. The passage repeats in an even rhythm toward a distant point of light. The floor is uneven and marked with damp patches, and lighter masonry shows through the growth on some of the piers. The deep green tones give the space a dense, almost underwater mood.
