OLD LADY III

Abandoned shipwreck with a tree growing from its deck in flooded water in Brandenburg, Germany

Seen from above, the rust brown hull lies motionless in a still, cloud covered stretch of water. Grass and reeds have settled on the deck, and a single tree has grown at the stern, casting its shadow across the metal. The water's surface mirrors the overcast sky, small islands of grass ringing the wreck. The scene feels quiet and self contained, as though the landscape had long since absorbed the ship.
