A PRAYER TO THE SUN II

Forgotten church with radiating apse decoration in Italy

A church nave with tall arcaded arches leads the eye toward a yellow-toned apse spanned by a radiating, fan-like pattern in red and blue. The roof structure above the central aisle is open in two places, letting daylight fall directly onto the debris-covered floor. On the right, a small wooden pulpit box with blue ornamentation hangs on the wall, moss-green patches spreading across the upper vault. The radiating pattern of the apse remains the clear focal point of the room.
