Abandoned monastery with blind wall niches in Italy
A long, barrel-vaulted corridor is structured by a row of blind arched niches on both sides, retaining traces of faded painting. At the far end, a tall, brightly lit arch opens, letting daylight reach deep into the space. The floor is uneven, broken up in several places, and interspersed with pits and debris. The repetition of the niches gives the corridor a calm, steady rhythm despite the decay.
