A small chapel beneath a heavily discolored ribbed vault holds two painted figures seated facing each other on raised pedestals. Between them rises a broken-open altarpiece, its center exposing a painted image of a saint against an orange background. Bricks and plaster fragments cover the floor, a wooden ladder leaning to one side. The muted, bluish light of the vault contrasts with the warm colors of the painting.
