GREEN SANCTUARY
Abandoned chapel with moss covered walls in Spain
A single-nave room with an open roof structure, its beams partly collapsed so that light enters from above. The walls are almost entirely covered by a thick layer of green moss and algae, while a red base coat below adds contrast. At the far end stands a carved, dark-stained altarpiece with figures, broken boards and timber debris scattered on the floor before it. Moisture has given the space a dense, almost vegetal surface.
