Mausoleum with blue and white ornamental vault in Italy

A small, octagonal room is entirely covered in blue and white gothic-style ornament of rosettes and tracery, running from the walls up into the ribs of the vault. Bright light enters through an open door at the far end, revealing fresh greenery outside. At the wall edges the painted pattern flakes away, exposing the brickwork beneath in places, and the floor is sunk into a shallow, open recess. The dense pattern gives the small room an almost textile quality.
