Abandoned synagogue with Star of David ceiling painting in Romania
The ceiling of a long hall bears a large, painted Star of David medallion in blue, red, and gold, framed by narrow decorative bands along the side walls. Below hang two heavy wrought iron chandeliers over rows of dark wooden pews, and at the far end stands a pointed-gable ark with a red curtain. The walls are kept in warm ochre and show water stains in several places. The central star motif remains clear and well preserved despite the aging.
