The square lies entirely empty, its floor laid in a pattern of light and dark tiles that seems to repeat toward the horizon. A low stone balustrade separates it from the sea, above which the sky turns warm orange and heavy grey. On the far horizon, the faint silhouette of an island can just be made out.
