Moss-covered turbine remains in the ruins of a hydroelectric plant in Tuscany, Italy

In a room of roughly hewn stone, two large turbine wheels lie with their toothed rims almost entirely covered in moss. Ivy climbs the walls and frames barred arched windows, through which muted light falls. A branch has pushed its way between the machine parts, and leaves cover the floor. Beside the soft green, the heavy, immobile machinery seems frozen in place.
