Facade of a former sugar factory with broken windows in Italy
The multi-storey facade shows row after row of broken windows, the hall behind lying in darkness. Above the roof, a delicate lattice of steel beams spans the building, the remains of a once-glazed roof structure. Grass and shrubs have taken over the ground floor and grow right up to the open archways. Plaster peels off the grey wall in large patches.
