Courtyard with a curved lattice roof in a former sugar factory in Italy

A wide lattice roof of steel struts arches over the courtyard, linking two parallel factory wings. The facades are marked by damp, rows of glassless windows open on either side. Thick greenery has spread across the ground and reaches up to the first row of windows. At the far end of the yard, a connecting structure has already collapsed.
