Vaulted corridor with a fresco and staircase in an abandoned villa in Italy

Through a round arch the view opens onto a cross vault frescoed in earthy reds and ochres. To the right a wrought iron railing leads a staircase upward, to the left a window frames a view of green outside. The wall edges are chipped, the plaster in places worn down to the stone. The space feels compact and calm at once.
