Symmetrical double staircase beneath a painted beam ceiling in a damaged castle in Italy

Two symmetrical flights with a stone balustrade lead up to a shared landing before a round arch with coloured glass. Above stretches a painted wooden beam ceiling with a coat of arms at its centre, the timber splintered in several places. A dark archway opens below into another room. The axis of the composition remains perfectly symmetrical despite visible damage.
