A round stained-glass roof crowns the tall foyer, its symmetrical staircase with wrought-iron railings sweeping up to a gallery. Two slender lamp stands flank the ascent, and at the back a glazed door with a floral pattern closes off the space. The tiled floor lies empty and still, while light filters in through the coloured glass.
