A richly gilded vestibule is crowned by a gallery of painted treetops and garden scenes, framed by lavish shell- and vine-shaped stucco. Two sculpted male figures flank a central, brightly lit archway as atlas figures. The walls are covered with a dark, ochre-colored fabric that is already fraying at the edges. Warm backlight from the archway makes the gilded stucco on the ceiling glow.
