Abandoned church with blind wall niches in Tuscany, Italy
A church nave with a patchily weathered vault is framed by empty arched niches on both sides, still showing faint traces of painting. In the foreground stand two low, medallion-painted tomb-like forms, while a smaller arch behind leads into an anteroom with a draped curtain motif on the wall. The floor is strewn with debris and loose stones. The even sequence of niches gives the space a calm symmetry despite the decay.
