Abandoned monastery with symmetrical wall niches in Italy

Two mirrored, empty wall niches with blue and white decorative frames flank a central altar area, above which remnants of a mural in warm colors are still visible. An open roof structure of dark timber spans the room, while the floor rises over a short flight of steps toward the altar and is covered in debris. The wall surfaces are roughly plastered and heavily weathered. The symmetrical arrangement gives the room a calm order despite the decay.
