Abandoned monastery church with barrel vault in Italy
A church nave with a tall barrel vault is structured by fluted pilasters with pale capitals, while an arch on the right opens onto a light-filled side room with trees visible beyond. At the end of the nave, a shallow apse with a small altar closes the space, scattered debris covering the floor. The plaster on the walls is evenly weathered, yet the overall form of the room remains fully intact. The incoming light sets a clear accent within the otherwise muted space.
