A curved, gilded coffered ceiling with a floral pattern carries two wrought-iron chandeliers above a long hall. A central double door stands open, letting in bright light that casts long shadows across the chequered tile floor. Further doors on either side lead to side rooms, the walls below stained and worn. Light and shadow divide the room into clear, geometric bands.
