A wooden roof structure in the lower level of an abandoned cooling tower in Belgium

A central pillar carries a radiating timber and metal framework that opens upward into a round, notched aperture. A greenish patina covers the edges of the struts while bright light falls through the openings. The criss-crossing beams form a dense geometric pattern around the pillar. The massive timber structure reads almost like the inside of an opened tree stump.
