Colonnaded portico with a turquoise-painted ceiling in a former sanatorium in Georgia
An open portico with two rows of Corinthian columns carries a turquoise ceiling, its paint peeling away in large patches to reveal plaster and brick beneath. Through the arched openings at the end, the view opens onto another colonnaded building behind trees. The stone floor is crossed by fine cracks, and a low balustrade closes the space to the sides. The symmetrical rows of columns create a calm, almost solemn sense of depth.
