Vehicles are built to move. A ship lying in the mudflats, a car with a tree growing out of it, a train on a track that no longer leads anywhere: they tell of the end of a journey, and of how quickly nature turns a piece of technology into part of the landscape.

The works on this page come from END OF THE JOURNEY, the series about wrecks, bridges and roads that were broken off. They are quiet, often melancholy pictures in wide landscapes that unfold their effect as canvas or fine art print.

Sven Fennema has photographed abandoned villas, churches, theatres and industrial sites across Europe since 2008. Every print is made individually to order in a leading German fine art lab. Depending on the finish, your work comes signed directly from the artist; very large works the lab hands straight to a freight carrier.
